The following analysis of the component parts of this water, compared with those of Cheltenham and Leamington, will shew that the Gloucester water contains, in the highest degree, those impregnations on which the virtues of springs of this class depend :—

HAMPSHIRE.

Very early in the morning of April 29, a fire was discovered in an empty house, close to the stacks of wood and premises of Messrs. Mottley and Ellis, of Portsea. In spite of the efforts of the military and the heads of public departments, whom the alarm soon brought to the spot, eight tenements, occupied by poor persons, were entirely consumed. There are many strong reasons for believing that the intention was to destroy a steam-engine, which had just been erected, close to the spot, for the purpose of facilitating the business carried on there. ward of 300l. has been offered for the discoery of the offenders.

In the Liverpool annual bill of mortality for 1814, which has just been published, it is stated that the increase of births beyond the preceding year, was 316; of burials 143; and of marriages 104 From this it appears that in consequence of the peace, the town had already begun to recover from its previous state of depression; a considerable increase of inhabitants having visibly taken place during the year 1814. We have no doubt that the ratio of increase during the current year will be far greater, in consequence of the revival of the American trade. (Liverpool Courier.)
