These will provide These will provide at a slightly less cost than the regular table d'hôte-a simpler, more compactly served meal, and have been instituted to meet the request for a somewhat less elaborate luncheon than the usual one. ART AND LIBRARY The committee acknowledges courtesy of George H. Nutting in securing from the New York Public Library, Astor, Lenox and Tilden Foundation, several of the most interesting of the bookplates used there. Through the efforts of Mr. Nutting the collection of bookplates acquired by the committee has been materially increased. Henry A. Lowell, of the John A. Lowell Banknote Company, has presented the Club with thirty-four specimens of bookplates. Donations of books are gratefully acknowledged from the following members: "The Real Adventure," Walter J. Phelan; "The Ancestry of Lincoln," George H. Nutting; "City Planning," John Nolen; "Tin Soldiers," Walter M. Pratt; "Dedication of the Statue of Wendell Phillips," William D. Brigham; Stephen A. Smith, and four books in French from Dr. George E. Horr. One of the most interesting things acquired by the Club is a photograph of Tremont Street taken in 1886, thirty years ago, showing Masonic Temple and the horse cars. George H. Nutting has presented the Club with a portrait of the late Theophilus Parsons. F. H. Hilton has presented four photographs taken on the Mirimichi River, New Brunswick, during the freshet of July, 1915. The Club has received a copy of a ship's manifest, signed by John Quincy Adams and Henry Clay, a gift of Gustav P. Wiksell. Lindsay Swift has made further donations to the Club of autographed letters by Governors Alexander H. Rice and George S. Boutwell. Interesting historical documents have been presented to the Club by Edward E. Norton. Rufus B. Tobey has presented a commission signed by Governor Andrew, and also a volume of the speeches on the occasion of the dedication of the statute of Josiah Quincy.
