The stern requisition of the Law organizing the Supreme Court, that the decisions shall be published within four months from the close of the last Court of the year, must be, and is a sufficient apology for the typographical errors which may be discovered in a portion of this volume. From the same cause, the publisher was forced to use, in a part of this volume, a lot of paper more indifferent than he could have wished.

With these remarks, the book is submitted to a generous profession.
