sums of money as he and they shall be obliged to and shall so actually pay for or on account of any such debt or debts to be by her the said C. B. at any time hereafter so contracted as aforesaid, together with all costs, charges? and damages which he or they shall or may pay or sustain on account thereof, any thing herein contained to the con trary notwithstanding: AND for the true performance of the said covenants of him the said A. B. berciubefore contained and hereby by him entered into, he the said A. B. doth hereby bind himself, his heirs, executors, and administrators, unto the said E. F. his executors, administrators, and assigns, in the penal sum of £ of lawful money of Great Britain, to be recovered by an action of debt in any of the courts at Westminster; PROVIDED ALWAYS, and it is hereby expressly agreed and declared by and between the said parties to these presents, that in case the said A. B. and C. B. his wife shall here, after be so minded and desirous to and shall actually live, reside, and cohabit together, these presents and every covenant, matter, and thing herein contained shall cease, determine, and be absolutely null and void to all intents and purposes whatsoever, any thing herein contained to the contrary notwithstanding. DEED of Covenants for an Apprenticeship : very special Provisions, and most ably constructed.

THIS INDENTURE, made, &c. BETWEEN A. B. of &c. and I. B. his son, of the one part, and C. D. of &c. of

the other part. WHEREAS the said I. B. of his own free will, with the consent and approbation of the said A. B. his father, hath put himself apprentice unto the said C. D. with him to serve and dwell as an apprentice from the day of the date hereof unto the full end and term of years from thence next ensuing, and fully to be complete and ended, to serve and remain with him after the manner of an apprentice for the said term of years: Now THIS INDENTURE WITNESSETH, and the said A. B. doth hereby for himself, his executors, and administrators, and for the said I. P. his son, covenant, promise,' and agree to and with the said C. D. his executors, administrators, and assigns, that the said I. B. shall and will well and truly serve the said C. D. after the manner of an appren tice from the day of the date hereof as aforesaid, until the full end and term of years from thence next ensuing, and fully to be complete and ended, during which said term the said I. B. all and every the said C. D.'s lawful commands shall well and truly obey, observe, fulfil, perform, and every where gladly do; his secrets keep; and shall not do or cause to be done any thing whatsoever which may anywise be hurtful or prejudicial unto the said C. D. his executors or administrators, nor see the same by others, but that the said I. B. shall forthwith give notice or warning to the said C. D. of the same; and also that the said 1. B. shall not buy or sell, or do any work, or serve as a journeyman to any person or persons, or any other business on his own account, or for his own proper gain, interest, or advantage, during the said term, otherwise than as an apprentice for the interest and gain of the said C. D., and that the said I. B. shall not at any time or times hereafter during the said term of

sent himself from the service of the said C. D, without the special license and consent of the said C. D. and except as hereinafter mentioned, but in all things as a careful and faithful apprentice civilly, diligently, and honestly behave himself to the said C. D. his master, and. towards his customers and all such persons as shall employ him in the business he follows during the said term. And the said C. D. for and in consideration of the sum of of lawful money of Great Britain, to him in hand well and truly paid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents by the said A. B. the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge, he the said C. D. doth for himself, his executors, and administrators, hereby covenant, promise, and agree to and with the said A. B. his executors and administrators, that he the said C. D shall and will during the said term of years, by the best means he can, teach and instruct, or cause to be taught and instructed the said I. B. in the art or business of a AND the said A. B. for himself, his executors, and administrators, doth hereby further covenant, promise, and agree to and with the said C. D. his executors and administrators, that he the said A. B. his executors or administrators, shall and will, from time to time during the said term, find and provide for his said son all manner of apparel, both linen and woollen, and meat, drink, washing, and lodging, and all other necessaries; and also, if it shall happen at any time or times during the said term, that the said J. B. shall be sick, that then and so often as the same shall happen, the said A. B. his executors or administrators, shall and will take care of the said I. B. and provide and pay for all physic or other medicines that he shall take during such illness; AND FURTHER, that if the said I. B. shall happen at any time or times during

the said term, to embezzle, purloin, or unlawfully make away, consume, waste, or spoil any of the goods, chattels, wares, monies, and effects of the said C. D. his executors or administrators, or of any other person or persons in his or their custody or possession, for which the said C. D. his executors or administrators shall or may be answerable or accountable, or lend them unlawfully, that then the said A. B. his executors or administrators, shall and will, within three months next after notice thereof shall be given or left to and for him, her, or them, and due proof made by the said C. D. his executors or administrators, upon his, their, or any of their corporal oaths, and so from time to time, as often as the same shall happen, well and truly pay and satisfy, or cause to be paid and satisfied unto the said C. D. his executors or administrators, all and every sum and sums of money to the true value of all and every such goods, chattels, wares, and effects which shall be by the said I. B. within the said term so embezzled, purloined, consumed, mis-spent, wasted, spoiled, concealed, made away with, or otherwise unduly detained by him from the said C. D. his executors or administrators, during the said term; PROVIDED ALWAYS, and it is further agreed upon by and between the said C. D. and A. B. that the said I. B. shall, during the said space of years, serve the said C. D. as his apprentice in his said business of o'clock in the morning till —— o'clock in the evening, except on Sundays; and that the said I. B. shall be at liberty, and shall during the space of one month in each of the said

D. have for several years past carried on (together) the trade or business of "a tallow chandler" in street afore said, but without entering into articles for that purpose, and they have now agreed to continue their said copartnership for such period upon the terms and subject to the provisoes and conditions hereinafter mentioned and contained: AND WHEREAS the dwelling-house and premises where the said trade or business is now and has been carried on in street aforesaid, and also the adjoining premises, are freehold, and belong to the said A. B. and are estimated at the annual value of £ said A.
