Receipt for Payment of 1805.

We the Cayuga Nation do acknowledge to have received from the People of the State of New York the sum of two thousand three hundred dollars, in full for the several annuities mentioned in a certain writing or agreement, made at a treaty held at the Cayuga Ferry in the State of New York, by Philip Schuyler, John Cantine, David Brooks and John Richardson, agents, authorized by and in behalf of the People of the State of New York with the tribes and nation of Indians called the Cayugas on the twenty-seventh day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety-five as witness our hands at Canandanqua this eighth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and five.

Be it remembered that on the first day of October in the year 1805 before me Moses Atwater one of the Judges of the Court of Common Pleas for said County came William Shepard, Esq., who is well known to me and made oath that he saw the persons whose names are subscribed to the within instrument execute the same as their free act and deed. And that he this deponent with Luther Cole and Henry Chapin in the presence of each other subscribed their names as witnesses.
