IN MEMORIAM

CHARLES ALFORD BISHOP.

The Polk County Bar Association, through its committee, presented to the court resolutions in commemoration of the life of Judge Charles A. Bishop, in which it was said in part:

His sympathy was inexhaustible, yet he never felt more strongly than he reasoned, therefore, his judgment was good. Able lawyer and upright judge though he was, his predominating characteristics were gentleness and kindliness; and above all else he excelled as a man and a friend."

Mr. Chas. L. Powell, after reading the resolutions, speaking in behalf of the committee of the Polk County Bar Association, comprised of Mr. J. L. Parrish, Mr. Geo. H. Carr, Mr. C. A. Dudley, Mr. Crom. Bowen and himself, said:

"A good man has been suddenly called from our midst to his final resting place; and it is fit that this court pause in its deliberation to consider this brief memorial, commemorative of the life of Judge Bishop, both for the sake of ourselves and for the sake of those who shall come after us,
