Lesquels, après avoir échangé leurs Pleins-pouvoirs, trouvés en bonne et due forme, sont convenus des Articles suivans:

ART. I. Sa Majesté le Roi de Danemarc accède à toutes les Stipulations du Traité de Vienne du 25 Mars, 1815, tel qu'il se trouve inséré ci-après, sauf les modifications arrêtées d'un commun accord par l'Article III de la présente Convention.

And His Majesty the King of Denmark, the Sieur Christian Gunther, Count Bernstorff, Knight of the Order of the Elephant, Grand Cross of that of Dannebrog, and of the Royal Order of St. Stephen of Hungary, Privy Councillor for Conferences of His Majesty the King of Denmark, and his Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to His Imperial and Royal Apostolic Majesty ;

Who, having exchanged their Full Powers, found to be in good and due form, have agreed on the following Articles:

ART. I. His Majesty the King of Denmark accedes to all the Stipu lations of the Treaty of Vienna of the 25th March, 1815, such as it is hereinafter inserted, excepting, however, the modifications agreed to by common consent in Article III of the present Convention.

II. En conséquence de cette Accession, Sa Majesté le Roi du Royaume Uni de la Grande Bretagne et d'Irlande s'engage à considérer comme également obligatoires envers Sa Majesté le Roi de Danemarc, toutes les Stipulations du Traité insérées ci-dessus, qui par-là deviennent complètement réciproques entre toutes les Puissances qui prennent part à la présente transaction et pourroient y accéder encore.

II. In consequence of this Accession, His Majesty the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland engages to consider as equally binding, with respect to His Majesty the King of Denmark, all the Stipulations of the Treaty hereinbefore inserted, which thereby become completely reciprocal between all the High Powers who take part in the present Compact, and may still accede to the same.

III. Sa Majesté Danoise qui, III. His Danish Majesty, who, in consequence of a previous Convention entered into with Great Britain, under date of the 14th July last,* has brought into the Field a Corps d'Armée of 15,000 men, engages to employ thisCorps towards the object of the Alliance, to which His Majesty accedes by the present Treaty, until the period when this object shall have been entirely attained by the conclusion of a Definitive Arrangement be tween the Allied Powers and His Most Christian Majesty.

en conséquence d'une Convention préalable faite avec la Grande Bretagne sous la date du 14 Juillet dernier,* a mis en Campagne un Corps d'Armée de 15,000 hommes, s'engage à faire concourir ce Corps au but de l'Alliance, à laquelle elle accède par le présent Traité, jusqu'au moment où ce but se trouvera entièrement rempli par la conclusion d'un Arrangement Définitif entre les Puissances Alliées et Sa Majesté Très-Chrétienne.

IV. Le présent Traité sera ratifié, et les Ratifications en seront échangées dans 2 mois, ou plutôt si faire se peut.

En foi de quoi, les Plénipotentiaires respectifs l'ont signé, et y ont apposé le Cachet de leurs Armes.

Fait à Paris, le 1er Septembre, de l'an de Grâce, 1815.

IV. The present Treaty shall be ratified, and the Ratifications thereof shall be exchanged within 2 months, or sooner, if possible.

(4.)-TREATY of Accession of Hanover to the Treaty of Alliance of the 25th March, 1815, between the 4 Powers.-Signed at Vienna, the 7th April, 1815.

In the Name of the Most Holy and Undivided Trinity.

His Majesty the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, and His Majesty the King of Great Britain and Hanover, animated by the desire of uniting their efforts to secure the tranquillity of Europe against every interruption with which it may be menaced under the present circumstances, and His Majesty the King of Great Britain and Hanover having determined for this purpose, and in consequence of the invitation which has been made to him by their Majesties the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland,

the Emperor of Austria, the Emperor of all the Russias, and the King of Prussia, to accede to the Treaty of Alliance concluded the 25th of March last, have named, in order to arrange whatever may be connected with this object:

His Majesty the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, the Right Honourable Richard le Poer Trench, Earl of Clancarty, Viscount Dunlo, Baron of Kilconnel, one of his said Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council in Great Britain and also in Ireland, President of the Board of Trade and Plantations, Joint Post-Master General of Great Britain, Colonel of the Galway Regiment of Militia, and one of His said Majesty's Plenipotentiaries at the Congress :

And His Majesty the King of Great Britain and Hanover, Ernest Frederic Herbert Count de Münster, Hereditary Marshal of the States of the Kingdom, His Minister of the State and of the Cabinet, Grand Cross of the Order of St. Stephen; and His Excellency Ernest Christian George Augustus Count de Hardenberg, Grand Cross of the Red Eagle, Knight of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem, and His Majesty's Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary at the Court of His Imperial and Royal Apostolic Majesty :

Who, after having exchanged their Full Powers, found in good and due form, have agreed upon the following Articles:

ART. I. His Majesty the King of Great Britain and Hanover accedes to all the Stipulations of the Treaty of Vienna of the 25th March 1815, as hereafter inserted, with the modifications mutually agreed upon by the IIIrd Article of the present Convention.

II. In consequence of this Accession, His Majesty the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland engages to consider as equally binding towards His Majesty the King of Great Britain and Hanover all the Stipulations of the Treaty as above inserted, which become thereby perfectly reciprocal between all the Powers who bear a part in the present transaction, and who may hereafter accede thereunto.

III. The Force which His Britannic Majesty is able to furnish in his character of King of Hanover, being partly limited by the number of Troops which are already united with the English Army in the Low Countries, viz. 16,400 men, without reckoning the German Legion, His Majesty the King of Hanover engages to augment the said Corps with 10,000 men, of which 750 shall be Cavalry, 9,070 Infantry, and 180 Artillery, so that the Hanoverian Corps employed against the Common Enemy shall amount, exclusive of the German Legion, to 26,400 men, comprising 2,150 Cavalry, 400 Artillery, and 23,850 Infantry.

IV. The present Treaty shall be ratified, and the Ratifications exchanged within 6 weeks from the present date, or sooner, if possible.

In faith of which the respective Plenipotentiaries have signed it, and have affixed thereunto the Seal of their Arms.

(5.)-TREATY of Accession of Hesse Darmstadt, to the Treaty of Alliance of the 25th March, 1815, between the 4 Powers.-Signed at Vienna, the 23rd May, 1815.

In the Name of the Most Holy and Indivisible Trinity.

His Majesty the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland on the one side, and on the other side, His Royal Highness the Grand Duke of Hesse, animated with the desire of uniting their efforts to secure the tranquillity of Europe against every attempt by which, under present circumstances, it may be threatened; and His Royal Highness the Grand Duke having resolved to this effect, and in consequence of the invitation which has been made to him, by their Majesties the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, the Emperor of Austria, the Emperor of all the Russias, and His Majesty the King of Prussia, to accede to the Alliance which these 4 Powers concluded the 25th March last, have invested with their Full Powers, to regulate every thing which may relate to this object, viz:

His Majesty the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, the Right Honourable Richard le Poer Trench, Earl of Clancarty, Viscount Dunlo, Baron Kilconnel, one of His Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council in Great Britain and also in Ireland, President of the Committee of the former for the Affairs of Foreign Trade and Plantations, Joint Post-Master-General, Colonel of the Galway Regiment of Militia, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, and one of His said Majesty's Plenipotentiaries at the Congress of Vienna; and

His Royal Highness the Grand Duke of Hesse, the Sieur Jean Baron of Turkheim d'Altdorf, his Minister of State and Envoy Extraordinary at the Congress, Grand Cross of his Order;

Who, after exchanging their Full Powers, found in good and due form, have agreed upon the following Articles :

ART. I. His Majesty the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland having engaged, conjointly with their Majesties the Emperor of Austria, the Emperor of all the Russias, and His Majesty the King of Prussia, to unite the means of their States to maintain in all their integrity the Stipulations of the Treaty concluded at Paris, the 30th of May, 1814, as well as those which shall be agreed upon and signed at the Congress of Vienna, in the view of completing the dispositions of this Treaty, and to secure them against every attempt, and particularly against the designs of Napoleon Buonaparte,

and to direct to that effect all their efforts against him and his Partizans, in order to put it out of his power in future to disturb the tranquillity of Europe, and the general Peace; His Royal Highness the Grand Duke of Hesse accedes to this Alliance, and engages solemnly to unite all the means of his States to those of His Britannic Majesty, and of the Sovereigns his Allies, in order thus to direct, in concert and with common accord, all their efforts towards the same object.

II. In consequence of this Accession, His Royal Highness the Grand Duke of Hesse engages, on his part, to bring into the field and keep up to their full establishment, a Corps of 8,000 men of all arms, which shall form a part of the Grand Army which is assembling on the Upper Rhine under the command of Field-Marshal the Prince of Schwartzenburg. The Troops of His Royal Highness shall form and remain one Corps, and be placed under the immediate command of a General to be appointed by His Royal Highness.

The Landsturm shall be embodied according to the exigency of the case, and shall not enter into the calculation made in the present Article, and shall only serve within the Country and for the defence of the Interior.

III. His Majesty the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland engages, as well in his own name as in that of their Majesties the Emperor of Austria, the Emperor of all the Russias, and the King of Prussia, not to lay down their arms without particular regard to the interests of His Royal Highness the Grand Duke of Hesse, and not to allow any violation of the political existence of the Grand Duchy.

IV. When the object of the present War shall be attained, His Majesty the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland engages, in concert with his Allies, to admit His Royal Highness the Grand Duke to take a part, inasmuch as his interests are concerned, in the arrangements of the future Peace.

V. Every thing relative to subsistence, equipment, transport, hospitals, and to all other objects necessary to support and facilitate the movements of the Troops, and the operations of the War, shall be regulated by a Particular Convention.

VI. The present Treaty shall be ratified, and the Ratifications exchanged within the term of 6 weeks, or sooner, if possible.

In faith of which the respective Plenipotentiaries have signed the present Treaty, and have thereto affixed the Seal of their Arms. Done at Vienna, this 23rd day of May, in the year of our Lord, 1815. TURKHEIM,
