PREFACE TO FOURTH EDITION.
The sections which have been amended since the adoption of the Code, in 1872, are ruled out with a single line, and those which have been repealed, are cross-ruled with similar lines. The amendments of 1873-4 and 1875-6 are given numerically in the Appendix-following the Index. Words which were added or changed by amendments are enclosed within 74superior74 figures in style of 76quotation76 marks, and where words have been omitted from the old sections the place of the omission is indicated by a dagger (†)
