At a Meeting of the Society, held on February 2nd, 1874, Premiums of Books were awarded to:

Mr. WILLIAM HENRY FOX, for his Paper "On Continuous
Railway Brakes."

Mr. HENRY GORE, for his Paper "On Horse Railways and
Street Tramways."

Mr. S. ALFRED VARLEY, for his Paper "On Railway Train
Intercommunication."

Mr. CHARLES JULIAN LIGHT, for his Paper "On a New
Method of Setting Out the Slopes of Earthworks."
