Employees and their Compensation for the Year This Statement is compiled from returns made to this Commission on Interstate Commerce Commission's Annual Report Form No.561, for the year ended December 31, 1917. Employees in this statement are grouped according to the occupational classification of the Interstate Commerce Commission. It will be noted that this table gives the average mumber of employees in each class throughout the year and that this average number in total (1,740,479) is about 11 per cent below the actual number employed during December (1,939,399). It is assumed by this commission that the actual number employed in December (1,939,399) will more correctly represent the average number of employees for 1918 than the average number employed in 1917 (1,740,479). |
