Soon after the first action, Sir George Rodney was joined by the Triumph of 74 guns, Capt. Ph. Affleck, from England.

On the 12th of July, Sir George Rodney was joined by Commo

dore Walfingham with the following fhips:

Thunderer,

Thunderer, Berwick, Egmont †, Shrewsbury, and Centaur, of 74 guns each, Amazon of 32 guns, and Scarborough, of 20 guns.

On the 17th put to fea; and on the 22d detached the following fquadron to Jamaica.

Rear-Admiral Parker failed for England in the Medway.

In November, Sir George Rodney failed from New York for the West Indies, leaving the Culloden to reinforce Vice-Admiral Arbuthnot's fquadron. The Yarmouth he fent to England. The Suffolk he fent to Jamaica. The Alcide, Triumph, and Intrepid, not being being quite ready to fail with the Admiral, followed him foon after to the Weft Indies.

The fhips marked thus came home as convoy or express.

Lift of Land Forces at the Leeward Ilands.
