NARRATIVE

1. SWATIS.

I.-Agreement of the Alahiwals for the maintenance of friend-
ly relations and surrender of property stolen from
British territory, dated 1st June 1875

II.-Agreement of the Nandihar Jirga of Dodal, Khan Khel,
Panjmirai and Panjghol sections, engaging to prevent
their clans from committing offences in British terri-
tory, dated 14th November 1888
III.-Agreement entered into by the Tikri Jirga of Ashtor,
Malkal and Naror sections, for the good behaviour of
their clansmen, dated 14th November 1888

2. YUSAFZAIS.

IV.--Agreement entered into by the Kabul and Kya sections

of the Utmanzai Pathans and the Salar Tappas of the

Trans-Indus Gaduns, pledging themselves not to per-

mit the Sirana fanatics to settle within their limits,

dated 12th September 1861

V.-Agreement entered into by the Utmanzai tribe, engaging

not to permit the Hindustani fanatics to settle at

Sitana and Mandi, dated 6th January 1864

VI.-Agreement executed by the Amazai clan, engaging to ex-

clude the Hindustani fanatics from their country, dated

11th January 1864

VII.-Agreement of the Hasanzais, engaging not to allow Hin-

dustani fanatics to settle in their country, dated 22nd

January 1864

ing their responsibility for Hashim Ali Khan or their

X.--Agreement made by the Hasanzais and Akazais at Seri

on their submission to the British Government, dated

XIII.-Agreement entered into by the Buner Jirga for expelling

the Hindustani fanatics from Buner, Chamba and

Amazai lands, without date.

XIV. Terms offered to the Khans of Ranizai on the re-settle-

ment of their lands, without date

XV,-Agreement entered into by the Khans and Khan Khels

of Swat and the Upper and Lower Ranizais for the

protection of the road from Peshawar to Chitral

running through the Ranizai and Swat territories,

dated 12th September 1895

XVI.-Agreement entered into by the Khans and Khan Khels of

Swat, commuting the tolls in their country to the

British Government in consideration of a payment by

Government of Rs. 10,000 a year, dated 12th

September 1895

XVII.--Agreement entered into by the Musa Khel and the
other tribes of the Upper Swat, expressing their uncon-
ditional submission to the British Government, dated
22nd August 1897

3. GADUNS OR JADUNS.
