DECREE of the King of Sweden concerning the Protection of certain Marks which denote that a Vessel is set apart for the Help of the Wounded and Sick in Time of War.Stockholm, June 16, 1911.

(Translation.)

WE, Gustaf, &c., hereby make known that since by the conclusion of an international Convention on the 18th October, 1907, to which Sweden is a party, it was agreed that a military hospital ship should be painted white externally with a horizontal green stripe about 1 metres wide, also that a vessel which is equipped for hospital work in war by private or by certain officially acknowledged societies, should be painted white with a red stripe of similar breadth, we, in virtue of paragraph 5 of the Law concerning the protection of certain international hospital marks of the 2nd June of the current year, have found it good graciously to decree that what is laid down in the abovementioned Law with regard to the mark of the Red Cross shall also be valid with regard to the use of the mark on board ship, as has been stated above.

This Royal decree comes into force on the 1st January, 1912.
