APPENDIX (D).

ACT of SEDERUNT regulating the PROCEEDINGS in LIQUIDATIONS in the SHERIFF
COURTS of SCOTLAND, under the BUILDING SOCIETIES ACT, 1874.

Edinburgh, 17 March 1882. WHEREAS by "The Building Societies Act, 1874," 37 & 38 Vict. c. 42, sect. 32, subsect. 4, it is enacted that a Society under the said Act may terminate or be dissolved" by "winding up either voluntarily under the supervision of the Court, or by the Court, if the "Court shall so order, on the petition of any member authorised by three-fourths of the "members present at a general meeting of the Society specially called for the purpose to "present the same on behalf of the Society, or on the petition of any judgment creditor "for not less than 50 l., but not otherwise;" and that "general orders for regulating the "proceedings of the Court under this section may be from time to time made by the "authority for the time being empowered to make general orders for the Court:"

And whereas, by sect. 4 of the said Statute, it is enacted that the Court in this Act

means:

"In England the County Court of the district in which the chief office or place of "meeting for the business of the Society is situate; in Scotland the Sheriff's Court of the 66 county in which such office or place of meeting is situate:"
