CHAP. 8.-An Act Granting a pension to Cora M. Converse.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Cora M. Converse, widow of Oscar 1. Converse, late of Company A, First New Hampshire Light Infantry, and first lieutenant, Fourteenth Regiment United States Infantry, and pay her a pension at the rate of twenty-five dollars per month. Approved, January 23, 1904.

CHAP. 9.—An Act Granting an increase of pension to Alfred Woodman.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Alfred Woodman, late of Company B, Second Regiment New Hampshire Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of twenty-four dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving.

CHAP. 10.-An Act Granting an increase of pension to Perry Kittredge.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Perry Kittredge, late hospital steward Third Regiment New Hampshire Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of thirty dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving, payable to his legally constituted guardian.

CHAP. 11.-An Act Granting a pension to John L. Sullivan.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of John L. Sullivan, invalid and dependent son of Richard T. Sullivan, late of Company G, Eleventh Regiment New Hampshire Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of twelve dollars per month.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Pension increased. Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Charles R. Allen, late of Company A, Second Regiment Illinois Volunteer Cavalry, and pay him a pension at the rate of thirty dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving. Approved, January 23, 1904.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Henry G. Hammond, late of Company G, Fiftieth Regiment Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of thirty dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving. Approved, January 23, 1904.

CHAP. 14.-An Act Granting an increase of pension to Elizabeth McClaren.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Pension increased. Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Elizabeth McClaren, widow of James McClaren, late of Company F, Thirty-fifth Regiment Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, and pay her a pension at the rate of twenty-four dollars per month in lieu of that she is now receiving: Provided, That in the event of the death of Mary Elizabeth McClaren, helpless and dependent child of said James McClaren, the additional pension herein granted shall cease and determine.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the

pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Jane M. Watt, widow of John Watt, late first lieutenant, Sixteenth Regiment United States Infantry, and Company C, Thirty-eighth Regiment United States Colored Volunteer Infantry, and pay her a pension at the rate of seventeen dollars per month in lieu of that she is now receiving.

Richardson, late chaplain Eleventh Regiment United States Colored Volunteer Infantry and Seventh Regiment United States Colored Volunteer Heavy Artillery, and pay him a pension at the rate of thirty dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving.

CHAP. 18.-An Act Granting an increase of pension to Mary A. Bishop.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Mary A. Bishop, widow of William Bishop, late colonel Seventh Regiment Missouri Volunteer Cavalry, and pay her pension at the rate of thirty dollars per month in lieu of that she is now receiving.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Pension increased. Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Lucretia Ritchhart, widow of John Ritchhart, late musician Fourth Regiment Iowa Volunteer Infantry, and pay her a pension at the rate of twenty dollars per month in lieu of that she is now receiving: Provided, That in the event of the death of Hattie Ritchhart, the helpless and dependent child of said John Ritchhart, the additional pension herein granted on account of said child shall cease and determine.

Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Thomas Banks, late of Company G, Thirty-third Regiment Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, and Company H, Third Regiment Potomac Home Brigade Maryland Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of thirty dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving.

Cushman, late second lieutenant Company D, Twenty-ninth Regiment Maine Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of thirty dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving.
