II. The Diplomatic Agent of the Hans Towns in London shall concert with the Officers to be appointed by His Britannic Majesty, as to the mode most convenient for the transmission of the Money for the use of the Hanseatic Governments.

III. This Treaty shall be ratified, and the Ratifications shall be exchanged in London as soon as possible.

In faith of which, the respective Plenipotentiaries have signed it, and have affixed thereunto the Seals of their Arms.

His Royal Highness The Grand Duke of Mecklenburgh-Schwerin having, by a Treaty signed at Vienna on the 27th of April, acceded to the Treaty of General Alliance signed at the same Place on the 25th of March, 1815, by the Plenipotentiaries of Great Britain, Austria, Russia and Prussia, and having engaged to employ in the field a Contingent of 3,800 men ;

And His Royal Highness The Prince Regent, acting in the name and on the behalf of His Majesty The King of Great Britain and Ireland, being desirous, as far as may be in his power, to assist His Royal Highness The Grand Duke of Mecklenburgh-Schwerin, in order to enable His Royal Highness The Grand Duke to make the exertions for carrying into execution his engagements, has named the Duke of Wellington, &c. &c.;

And His Royal Highness The Grand Duke of MecklenburghSchwerin has named the Marshal of his Court, Baron d'Oertzen, in order to discuss and settle the terms on which the said assistance shall be given;

Who, having communicated to each other their respective Full Powers, have agreed to the following Articles: viz.

ART. I. His Britannic Majesty engages to pay to His Royal Highness the Grand Duke of Mecklenburgh-Schwerin, a Subsidy of £11 2s. per man, for the service of the year ending on the 1st day of April, 1816. to the number of 3,800 men. This Subsidy shall be paid in London at the end of each month, by monthly instalments, to the Person duly authorized to receive the same on the part of His Royal Highness The Grand Duke of Mecklenburgh-Schwerin, and the first

payment is to be made upon the exchange of the Ratifications of this Treaty.

In case Peace should take place or be signed between the Allied Powers and France, before the expiration of the said year, the Subsidy shall be paid up to the end of the month, in which the Definitive Treaty shall have been signed, and His Britannic Majesty promises, in addition, to pay to His Royal Highness The Grand Duke of Mecklenburgh-Schwerin, the Subsidy of 1 month, to cover the expenses of the return of his Troops within his own Frontiers.

His Serene Highness the Grand Duke of Nassau having, by a Treaty signed at Vienna on the 27th April, acceded to the Treaty of General Alliance, signed at the same Place on the 25th of March last, by the Plenipotentiaries of Great Britain, Austria, Russia and Prussia, and having engaged to employ in the field a Contingent of 3,050 men;

And His Royal Highness the Prince Regent, acting in the name and on the behalf of His Majesty the King of Great Britain and Ireland, being desirous, as far as may be in his power, to assist His Serene Highness the Grand Duke of Nassau, in order to enable His Serene Highness to make the exertions to carry into execution his Engagements, has named the Duke of Wellington, &c. &c. &c. ;

And His Serene Highness the Grand Duke of Nassau has named Major-General Baron Kruse, in order to discuss and settle the terms on which the said assistance shall be given;

Who, having communicated to each other their respective Full Powers, have agreed to the following Articles:

ART. I. His Britannic Majesty engages to pay to His Serene

Highness the Grand Duke of Nassau, a Subsidy of £11. 2s. per matt, for the service of the year ending on the 1st of April, 1816, to the number of 3,050 men. This Subsidy shall be paid in London at the end of each month, by monthly instalments, to the Person duly authorized to receive the same on the part of His Serene Highness the Grand Duke of Nassau, and the 1st payment is to be made upon the exchange of the Ratifications of this Treaty.

IV. This Treaty shall be ratified, and the Ratifications shall be exchanged as soon as possible.

In faith of which, the respective Plenipotentiaries have signed it, and have affixed thereunto the Seals of their Arms.

(16.)-TREATY of Subsidy between Great Britain and Reuss.Signed (in English and French) at Paris, 1st August, 1815.

THE Serene House of Reuss having, by a Treaty signed at Vienna on the 27th April, 1815, acceded to the Treaty of General Alliance signed at the same Place on the 25th March last, by the Plenipotentiaries of Great Britain, Austria, Russia and Prussia, and having engaged to employ in the field a Contingent of 900 men;

And His Royal Highness the Prince Regent, acting in the name and on the behalf of His Majesty the King of Great Britain and Ireland, being desirous, as far as may be in His power, to assist the said Serene House in order to enable it to make the exertions for carrying into execution its engagements, has named the Duke of WelJington, &c. &c. &c.;

And the Serene House of Reuss has named the Colonel de Binckenburg, &c. in order to discuss and settle the terms on which the said assistance shall be given, who, having communicated to each

other their respective Full Powers, have agreed to the following terms;

ART. I. His Britannic Majesty engages to pay to the Serene House of Reuss, a Subsidy of £11 2s. per man, for the service of the year ending on the 1st day of April, 1816, to the number of 900 men.

This Subsidy shall be paid in London, at the end of each month, by monthly instalments, to the Person duly authorized to receive the same on the part of the Serene House of Reuss, and the 1st payment is to be made upon the exchange of the Ratifications of this Treaty.

His Majesty the King of Sardinia having, by a Treaty signed at Vienna, the 9th of April, 1815, acceded to the Treaty of General Alliance signed at the same Place on the 25th of March last, by the Plenipotentiaries of Great Britain, Austria, Russia and Prussia, and having engaged to employ in the field a Contingent of 15,000 men, one-tenth of which shall be Cavalry, with Artillery in proportion;

And His Royal Highness the Prince Regent, acting in the name and on the behalf of His Majesty the King of Great Britain and Ireland, being desirous, as far as may be in his power, to assist the King of Sardinia, in order to enable His Majesty to make the exertions to carry into execution his engagements, has named the Duke of Wellington, &c. &c. &c. ;

And His Majesty the King of Sardinia has named the Count St. Martin d'Aglié, in order to discuss and settle the terms on which the said assistance shall be given;
