BOWLING

After several unsuccessful attempts to open the bowling alleys, bowling activities have finally started. As soon as the necessary help can be procured the alleys will be opened at noon.

The committee wants the coöperation of every friend of bowling in the Club to help make the season a successful one, and it would be well to follow the example of our forefathers as shown in the following extract from Judge Sewall's diary:

'Wednesday, May 15, 1689, went and
dined with Fish at Capt. Kelley's

upon Mr. Patrige's invitation.
Capt. Hutchinson, Clarke, Appleton,
Brattle, Hull in company. Went to
a Garden at Mile End and drunk Currant
and Rasberry Wine, then to the Dog
and Partrige's and Plaid Nine Pins.'

To-day we have a marked advantage, as all of the above-mentioned pleasures can be had within our own Club.

The regular Boston Pin Tournament will start Friday, December 27, with ten teams.

BILLIARDS AND POOL

The annual Cowboy and Billiard tournaments will commence about February 1. Members desiring to take part will kindly enroll for the same at the desk in the billiard room. Entries close January 10.

Mr. George F. Slosson, in charge of the Billiard Room, will give private instruction to members of the Club, in Room W, on the 10th floor, by appointment.
